After winning their first game of the season on the 23rd, the North Fork Ospreys looked to carry some of that momentum into tonight when they took on the Westhampton Aviators. The Aviators were looking to create some distance to stay above .500. At the end of the day the Aviators would fall to the Ospreys by the score of 3-1. This game was tightly-contested throughout with a lot of big moments that changed the course of the game. The scoring took a couple of innings to get started as the First innin...
For the fourth time in franchise history, the Westhampton Aviators are Hamptons League Champions. The 2019 championship adds to their collection of titles form 2009, 2011, and 2016. The Aviators swept through the postseason going 4-0. They ended the season on a 9-0 run, winning 12 of their last 14 games. Westhampton defeated the Riverhead Tomcats in game 1 on Monday, putting themselves in position to clinch the title on the road. The Tomcats sent NYIT’s Bobby Vath to the mound in an attempt to force a decisive game three. Vath was the Hamptons League regular season leader in strikeouts and ERA, as he put together one of the most dominant resumes in the league. Vath worked through a leadoff single from Dan Franchi (Binghamton) and got three groundball outs to end the top of the first inning...

The Aviators improve to 3-2 on the young season, while North Fork is still searching for their first victory, at 0-5. For the home team, North Fork, Pace University lefthander Frankie Giuliano got the start on the mound, and he threw four innings of shutout ball, giving up just two hits and two walks, striking out six in the p...

Didnt hear them? Well then you werent in Westhampton Beach Tuesday afternoon. Eight balls were hit over the fence at Aviator Field, six of them by way of Aviators. Those six home runs set a new single-game record for the Westhampton Aviators, breaking the five home runs they hit on June 30 against the North Fork Ospreys last season. But the discrepancy in home runs does not tell the story of the game. As a matter of fact, the Long Island Road Warriors were an out away from winning the game. Let me take you to that moment It...
