Transitioning from a non-playoff eligible league to a playoff eligible league will challenge this team more than ever before. In 2022, Coach Ryan Mulholland took over the program and they haven’t looked back. Prior to that, they were winless for 2 seasons. Each year they have been improving; from 7 to 11 and last year to 12 wins. Coach Mulholland won Coach of the Year in 2025. Without a little league in town, much of head coach Ryan Mulholland’s team is new to the sport when entering high school, making the task of winning that much more challenging. After a 9-8 year in 2023, the Dragons went 11-6 overall and claimed the league title for the first time in over 50 years. “No matter what league you play in, you want to finish first in,” Mulholland said in an interview with Axcess Baseball. “It was really exciting for our program to have some success in baseball. Westbury Coming Off Most Successful Season in 20 Years

But the baseball turnout has gotten stronger throughout the years and last year was a step in the right direction for Coach Ryan Mulholland in his third year at Westbury. “We had a successful season last year,” said Mulholland. “We had a 9-8 record which was the most wins Westbury baseball has had since 2003. That was a big improvement for us. So that was a testament to our kids and their work ethic.” Westbury started the year 0-8 and won nine straight games to end the season on a high note.
