We’ll have an interview with the Playoff MVP coming soon! pic.twitter.com/CsNUsaxhLb — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 29, 2025 When you average 11.5 runs per game over a four-game stretch, it’s safe to assume the results often swing in your favor. For the South Shore Clippers, who put together an otherworldly offensive performance across four Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League playoff games, the barrage couldn’t have come at a more clutch time. Powered by a six-run third inning, the Clippers slugged their way past the North Fork Ospreys, 11-9, to complete the sweep and capture the 2025 HCBL Championship. The win marks the Clippers’ third in team history (2017, 2023) ...
by Chris Sacchi On a very special night at Jean Cochran Park in honor of the Dylan Newman Forever Five Foundation, the North Fork Ospreys were one win away from clinching home field in the HCBL playoffs. Everything seemed to point towards a gratifying, emotional win for an Ospreys team that has led the standings for most of the year. Instead, it was the South Shore Clippers (16-14-1) who came away with a 8-3 victory over North Fork (19-12-1.) Yet, the night still delivered an impact that Dylan Newman would smile about. “Obviously not the outcome we wanted tonight, but it’s awesome, it meant so much to the community,” Brendan Duffy (SUNY Oneonta) said postgame. “To see all the support we get, it’s a great thing, just wish we could have gotten the win.” Brendan Duffy (@SUNY_Oneonta)...
by Tucker Terranova Final: Clippers 4, Aviators 1 The Clippers win the first game of the HCBL campaign in seven innings. pic.twitter.com/CEa2sehDJu — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 12, 2025 After a long collegiate season and little time to recover before the start of the 2025 Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League (HCBL), some early-season rust would have been understandable. But for Mark Gajowski — a rising sophomore left-hander and 2024 Riverhead graduate — his debut in summer ball couldn’t have gone much better. Coming off a strong freshman campaign at the University at Albany where he made 12 appearances including eight starts, Gajowski took the mound for the South Shore Clippers in Thursday’s opener at Aviator Park and delivered four no-hit innings, striking out five to earn t...

Allowing the second-fewest earned runs in the HCBL, the Clippers’ quest for a title defense starts and ends with their pitching staff. After splitting their Independence Day doubleheader with the first-place North Fork Ospreys, the Clippers aimed to rebound Friday afternoon against the Westhampton Aviators, calling upon Bobby Finn (St. Bonaventure), the anchor of their staff, to get the job done. Finn continued his early-season dominance, delivering four innings of shutout ...
Luke Fisher discusses what today’s 3 hit, 4 RBI day meant to him in a 14-6 Opening Day victory for the Breakers pic.twitter.com/XHNianAmrJ — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 14, 2024 The Hamptons, renowned as one of the most sought-after summer destinations on the East Coast, offers more than just a perfect escape to kick back, relax, and soak up the sun. For the region’s top collegiate baseball players, a summer in the Hamptons offers a different challenge. Swapping metal bats for the more traditional wood lumber, these athletes flock to the Hamptons yearly to compete against the best and hone their skills along the scenic coast. For Southampton native Luke Fisher, the HCBL holds a deeper meaning. Swapping the customary William & Mary green and gold for royal blue, Fish...
