For a group that stayed in the race through all 36 games — and built a tight brotherhood over six weeks of competition — Tuesday’s finale offered the Whalers a chance to extend their season with a win. They did just that, defeating the Westhampton Aviators 6-3 to clinch a playoff berth on the final day of the season. “We get along really well and are close on and off the ...

by Tucker Terranova Will Darrell (Vassar) and Chris Morabito (Bucknell) discuss the @SagHbrWhalers’ 7-2 victory, Will’s outing, Chris’ incredible home-run robbery and what it will take to make the @HamptonsLeague playoffs. pic.twitter.com/IX2fHp3jxy — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 17, 2025 Playoff races are often decided by the smallest of margins. Whether a game or a run, baseball provides little room for error, especially late in the season.
