Atypical from most interviews, it was 90 minutes long and the Pat-Med native opened up about a variety of topics that are typically not mentioned on radio or TV. Marcus attended Duke University with Mike Stud (Mike Seander) and they became very close friends. Seander hosted Stroman on his official visit and he even encouraged him to begin his music career. They have remained close to this day, and Stroman even appeared on three of his songs (These Days, Shine, Take it How You Wanna). Stroman was traded to the Mets in a pre-trade dealine deal that surprised many in baseball, who expected him to be dealt to a contender like the New York Yankees. by P.J. Potter It’s Opening Night at Historic Hicks Field in Edenton, North Carolina. The fans are still filing into the grandstands as the Steamers are coming up to bat for the first time of the Coastal Plain League season. While people were still getting settled, Rich Ciufo was already locked in. On his very first swing, everyone in the ballpark stopped what they were doing. They looked up as Ciufo crushed the ball over the double deck of advertisement signs in left field, and he was met by a roaring ovation while rounding the bases. And just like that, crossing home plate with a huge smile, Ciufo became a star in the CPL. “It was a great way to open the summer. It felt like a lot of hard work paid off,” Ciufo said, a Medford, NY native attending Brown University. Jumping into the summer...

After the game, Doran sounded mature beyond his years when asked about his emotions in such an emotionally-charged game. “I made an error, so I had to come back and make a great play,” said the highly-sought after sophomore. “I just saw a fastball coming up and I put a good swing on it. This is a big rivalry between us,” he added. Final: Ward Melville 4, Pat-Med 3 Sophomore Logan Dora...
