The twin bill featured offense of all sorts on both sides, with some superb pitching as well. The Longhorns and Mayhem split the double header having identical scores in both games. Mayhem took game one 8-0, while the Longhorns rallied back to take game two 8-0. West Islip-native Bryce Cutrone is one of the top players in his age group on Long Island and has made a name for himself with some impressive numbers and accolades already. This season, he was outstanding for the NY Longhorns. He batted .510 with 35 HRs and 105 RBIs on the small fields. During the Longhorns Championship run in Cooperstown, he took his game to the next level – batting .727 with 10 HRs and 25 RBIs over their 10-0 trip. The 12u organization ran their overall record to 226-21 after their 12-0 shutout victory in the East Coast Labor Day Bash over the EEP Bandits. As can be seen by the score, they are not just winning tournaments, but they typically win in run-rule fashion against some of their toughest opponents.
