The championship matchup featured plenty of players committed to play college baseball. The Aviators started New Haven-commit Dan Gilroy on the mound, while the Empire started SUNY Purchase’s Jordan Cassuto. The Empire batted first and gave Gilroy an early scare in the top of the first inning. After striking out the first batter...
by John Sullivan Postgame interview with Empire pitcher AJ Taranto, who just tossed a complete game on the mound pic.twitter.com/CXxuwt74L6 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 8, 2025 With playoffs starting in under a week, every game is so meaningful, but Friday afternoon’s matchup was especially big for the Long Island Empire, who were hanging on to the last spot in the playoffs. They went up against B1 Ghost Parise, who held the third spot in the standings, and were looking to build momentum towards a playoff run. B1 decided to give the ball to a familiar face, Zach Jeshiva. Jeshiva was Axcess Baseball Player of the Game just last week for his performance on the mound against Showtime Legacy, and he continued to impress in the first inning of this one. He retired Empire 1-2-3...

He went 5 innings on the mound, allowing 4 runs in the 1st and then firing 4 scoreless to keep his team in the game. Also had the go-ahead hit in the win in the 3rd, a 2-RBI double. pic.twitter.com/7A5o2NT89h — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 22, 2025 Island Trees High School in Levittown played host to a LI Boys of Summer 14u American Division matchup on Monday night. Long Island Empire Black and Pro Diamond Rangers faced off in the action packed game. The Pro Diamond Rangers would come away victorious in this one, winning by a score of 9-4 but the game was closer than the score makes it seem. Let’s recap how we got to this point. The 6pm game started off with Mike Bernius toeing the slab fo...
by Jacob Infald Amarante gets Daly swinging. Empire gets one on a throwing error from Huthwaite but it won’t be enough as the game will end on time limit. LIB Select 6 – Long Island Empire 3 pic.twitter.com/MtPqYjK3c6 — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 12, 2025 In the bottom of the third inning Joe Arlia stepped to the plate for LIB 16U Select. They were in the midst of a two-out rally that already saw them net one run to tie the score up at two runs apiece against Long Island Empire 16U. Arlia dug in, his dugout was loud and on the first pitch he sat on a fastball on the upper half of the plate and roped it to right field, driving in two runs and giving his team a lead that they would not relinquish. That Arlia at-bat was a strong representation of this 6-3 victory for LIB...
