The game featured great pitching and ended up with Elite taking home a 2-1 victory. The pitching matchup featured Ethan Ruff toeing the rubber for LI Elite while Jax Cascione started on the mound for Yeti. The Yeti started things off hot in the top of the first inning, with a bases loaded opportunity and only 1 out. They were in the midst of a two-out rally that already saw them net one run to tie the score up at two runs apiece against Long Island Empire 16U. Arlia dug in, his dugout was loud and on the first pitch he sat on a fastball on the upper half of the plate and roped it to right field, driving in two runs and giving his team a lead that they would not relinquish. The two games featured a lot of action between the two teams, which included a lot of walks. Base on balls were a common them as 30 were issued against both of the teams throughout the 12 innings of baseball played Sunday. Due to the time limit both games only went 6 innings each. After a 1-1 tie that was centered around soft contact and great defense, Giac’s 463 Squad’s bats came alive in game two as they powered their way to a 10-3 victory over Yeti Baseball Navy behind sound pitching and a well-rounded approach at the plate.
