Special thanks to Metamorphosis Landscape Design for sponsoring this year’s series by Vin Messana Islip finished 2024 with an overall record of 8-12, as they had an extremely young team which featured just two seniors. It should be considered a positive that they will now be led by 11 seniors on this year’s squad. Head Coach R.J. Going, who is entering his 7th season at the helm, will have a much more experienced roster, albeit a smaller one with 13 players. After hitting a 2-9 record, Islip had to win out with eight games left in the season. Islip unraveled eight wins in a row to squeak into the playoffs. Their unbelievable win streak put them head-to-head against Kings Park where they defied the odds at the Kingman’s ballpark and pulled off the upset.
