by Chris Prystupa Jack Chopin was one of the main driving forces in the Ducks big bounce back in the second game of their double header today. He spoke with us on his emotions as he rounded third to score on his grand slam and how his team turned it around after a game one loss. pic.twitter.com/qU2gLPmMYL — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 30, 2022 The 14U Junior Ducks and 14U Dodger Nation squared off this afternoon in some Boys of Summer league action. In the first game of the double header, Dodger Nation got it started in the second inning thanks to Joseph Colleluori, who sprinted around the bases for an inside the park homerun just a few minutes after he made an inning ending diving catch in center field. The Dodgers capitalized on an error by the shortstop later in the inning...
by Nick Cipolla Postgame interview with Luke Girillo who threw a complete game, 2 hit shutout for Dodgers Nation @liboysofsummer pic.twitter.com/9rJkaJclND — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 28, 2022 To say that Luke Girillo (Manhasset) was on his “A-Game” in his most recent outing against LI Titans Pendl is a modest answer. Girillo absolutely shoved today, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 9 batters in a complete game (6 inning) shutout, guiding Dodgers Nation to a 7-0 victory. He overpowered the opposing hitters with his hard fastball and kept them on their toes by mixing in a nasty changeup as well. Dodgers Nation broke the game open in the first inning, after a leadoff walk by Justin Dumeng, Vincent Graff would knock him in with an RBI double to deep right-center to make ...
by Aaron Rothschild Game one, of the double header ends in a 5-5 tie. @EcybTournaments pic.twitter.com/5fWA1v0lkv — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 26, 2022 Yesterday was a great day to play two between the 12U Dodgers Nation and LIB. Both games featured impressive pitching resilience and some offensive production. Game one would feature a great comeback resulting in a 5-5 tie. The game started with Dodgers Nation starter Salvatore Gallucio firing a scoreless first. Dodgers Nation would then come up to bat and score four early runs on a flurry of base hits including a two-run double by Anthony Branscum Jr. After this, however, LIB starter Zach Sisto would find his rhythm and both pitchers would fire scoreless second innings. In the third, LIB would come up to bat and notch a run...
Here’s a quick few words from Dodgers’ Head Coach Brad Foster on his team battling back today and the hard work they put in this offseason to get to this moment pic.twitter.com/VnxAEFWX2y — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) June 5, 2022 by Chris Prystupa On a beautiful championship Sunday the Long Island Dodgers Nation came back and finished strong to beat the Roslyn Bulldogs by a score of 9-7. Things were not trending in the right direction for the Dodgers as they went down early to start the top of the first. After a leadoff single and another runner reached base, Giordano plated two runs on an infield single paired with a throwing error giving an early 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs continued with an RBI single from Fischer and an RBI double from Brooks to cap off a great four-run first inn...
This past week I spent the afternoon observing the Dodgers Nation team workout at LI Sports Dome – which consisted of their top 14 and 15u teams. The workout was led by Al Marrazzo – the Lynbrook varsity head coach. The team began the day working on a bevy of base running and infield defense. Additionally, the pitchers threw bullpen sessions and all hitters took a few rounds of BP. by Nicholas Cipolla Post game interview with Alex Goldstein of the LI Titans after a dominant outing in the championship game pic.twitter.com/nRnnbDSmOg — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 21, 2021 Alex Goldstein appears to have saved his best outing this summer for last as he was near untouchable in tonight’s championship game between the LI Titans Palermo and Dodgers Nation Jasmin. This game was the definition of a pitcher’s duel that unfortunately someone had to lose. Final: LI Titans: 1 Dodger Nation: 0. Alex Goldstein goes the distance and strikes out 9 in a complete game shut out pic.twitter.com/FJK9WOsBnV — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 21, 2021 Goldstein was unbelievable and his coaches probably couldn’t have asked for a better start out of him. by Nicholas Cipolla Phillip D’Aguanno opens up the scoring with an RBI infield single for Dodger Nation. 1-0 Dodger Nation in the top of the first. pic.twitter.com/hqlceFwVXQ — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) August 14, 2021 Dodger Nation decided not to wait until the later innings to score some runs, but they decided to score six of their seven runs in the first inning in game two against the Merrick Nats. After winning the first game on a walk-off triple, the Dodger Nation bats came to play in the first inning. Back to back singles from Anthony Agosta and Luke Costanzo got things going for Dodger Nation. Phillip D’Aguanno brought Agosta home with an RBI infield single to make it 1-0. Zachary Schnabel made it 3-0 with a 2 RBI Triple into the right field gap. James Martin kept the hi...
by Nicholas Cipolla Steve Vlahopoulos crushed a 2 out double that hit the wall in left field. The score is now tied at one in the sixth inning pic.twitter.com/hvjLuxcHZy — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 28, 2021 Ryan Annunziato was clutch when the Dodgers needed him most, at the bat and on the mound. Before any of this happens, we need to talk about the first three-and-a-half innings. During that timeframe, we were treated to a pitchers’ duel. We had almost no offense throughout these innings and both teams’ defenses were playing mistake-free baseball, that is until the bottom of the fourth inning. With a runner on second and two outs, Nick Schimmel hit a ground ball to third base, the throw was wide and pulled the first baseman into Schimmel where he unfortunately c...

by Gabe Zoda FINAL: LI Thunder-Judge win this one by the score of 4-1 over Dodger Nation-LaMarca. pic.twitter.com/8xVz06Fawt — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 24, 2021 There’s nothing better than summer ball, that is true with all ages and the same can be said with this 12u matchup at the Summer Showdown. This matchup was between the LI Thunder-Judge and Dodgers Nation-LaMarca. This game featured some good technical baseball and a lot of fun had by both teams which is the most important part at the end of the day for these guys. At the end of the game the LI Thunder-Judge would take home the victory with a score of 4-1 and good pitching and good defense allowed them to do just that. The offense for the Thunder would start in the 2nd inning as they would get 2 runs and one name ...
by Ben Diamond Game 1: Game Over! A Cameron Mastrelli RBI single wins the game for the Greendogs 4-3 in 7. pic.twitter.com/7cczBDkqIr — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 24, 2021 Early in game one, it seemed as though the Greendogs would win this game without question. But the inability to tack on more insurance runs allowed the Thunder to stay in the game and make things interesting. Early in the game, the Greendogs were able to score a run on an E4, and a defensive miscommunication allowed them to get an early 2-0 lead in the 1st inning. They would then score another run an inning later on a pickoff attempt that got an out but the runner was able to score from third. In both innings where the Greendogs scored, they left runners on base, runs that would have made the game much eas...
by Gabe Zoda After the game, we were able to chat with WP Nick Williams (4IP, 4Ks, 1BB) for the LI Thunder. pic.twitter.com/2g9mhEBLUO — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 11, 2021 Sunday held some more LI Boys of Summer DH action. Plainedge was home to the 14u game between the LI Thunder and Dodger Nation. This game was between two friendly teams as most of the guys between the two teams have played together before so the atmosphere was all good vibes on that baseball field. Unfortunately one team had to lose in these games and it was shown pretty early who that team would be. At the end of the day, the LI Thunder would win both games of the DH. The first game ended in a run-rule through 5 innings. The final score of that game was 13-2. In the second game the score would be a ...
