Mayhem took game one 8-0, while the Longhorns rallied back to take game two 8-0. by Jacob Infald That’s the last out. Sayeves fires a complete game shutout for MVP South Shore as they improve to 13-2 on the summer. pic.twitter.com/ebfr7o0dQQ — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 30, 2025 In between heavy rain and a lightning delay, there was a 16U LI Boys of Summer game played between MVP South Shore and Hicksville Elite. Both teams entered the contest atop the National and American divisions respectfully, both looking to make statement wins. It was ultimately MVP South Shore who overcame the weather behind a gem from River Sayeves (MacArthur 2027) who fired a complete game shutout en route to a 3-0 victory. MVP was able to get on the board early and never looked back. Jonathan Moya (East Rockaway 2026) got the start for Elite and while he was sitting around 80 ...
by John Sullivan Postgame interview with players of the game Chris Hall and Lucas Sweeting pic.twitter.com/B4Uwra2xDd — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 30, 2025 Long Island Empire Black came into Cantiague Park Wednesday night looking for an upset over the first place team in the 14u American division, the Long Island Elite Prospects. Elite gave the ball to hard throwing right hander Lucas Sweeting, who was featured in our “Up Next” series back in February. Empire had a great start off Sweeting, as Leo Sanchez drew a walk to leadoff the game and advanced to third on a throw away on a pickoff attempt with no outs. With Sanchez on third, Anthony Fiorentino hit a chopper to third for an RBI ground out and an Early 1-0 Empire lead. Sweeting then struck out the next two batters he fa...
by John Sullivan After Showtime scratches a run across due to walks, Jojo Basile gets the K and shuts the door for B1. They win it 6-1 in 5 due to time limit pic.twitter.com/hvVFVVQPMM — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 29, 2025 It was bound to be a good game when Micheal Sime, brother of recent Nationals 4th round draft pick Miguel, took the mound for Showtime Legacy against third place B1 Ghost Parise. Similar to his brother, Micheal is a power pitcher who displays an electric fastball and he showed it in the first inning by blowing three of them by the first three batters for an easy 1-2-3 inning. After Sime’s great inning, Showtime had a promising start to the bottom half of the first after lead off batter, Owen Phillips, reached on an error. After B1 starting pitcher, Zachary...

We’ll have an interview with the Playoff MVP coming soon! pic.twitter.com/CsNUsaxhLb — Axcess Baseball LI (@axcessbaseball) July 29, 2025 When you average 11.5 runs per game over a four-game stretch, it’s safe to assume the results often swing in your favor. For the South Shore Clippers, who put together an otherworldly offensive performance across four Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League playoff games, the barrage couldn’t have come at a more clutch time. Powered by a six-run third inning, the Clippers slugged their way past the North Fork Ospreys, 11-9, to complete the sweep and capture the 2025 HCBL Championship. The win marks the Clippers’ third in team history (2017, 2023) ...

For a group that stayed in the race through all 36 games — and built a tight brotherhood over six weeks of competition — Tuesday’s finale offered the Whalers a chance to extend their season with a win. They did just that, defeating the Westhampton Aviators 6-3 to clinch a playoff berth on the final day of the season. “We get along really well and are close on and off the ...
by Joe Bello Eddie Sanderson of Pro Diamond Rangers following their 9-4 win over Empire. And while Head Coach Vinnie Morelli’s team is full of versatile, talented players, he likes his team’s chances with the starting 9 he presented tonight, which led the way in a 13-3 win for North Fork (20-12-1) over the Westhampton Aviators (12-21-0.) “They like to call themselves ‘The Avengers’ lineup,” Morelli said. “Those guys have been rolling all year, es...
by Chris Sacchi On a very special night at Jean Cochran Park in honor of the Dylan Newman Forever Five Foundation, the North Fork Ospreys were one win away from clinching home field in the HCBL playoffs. Everything seemed to point towards a gratifying, emotional win for an Ospreys team that has led the standings for most of the year. Instead, it was the South Shore Clippers (16-14-1) who came away with a 8-3 victory over North Fork (19-12-1.) Yet, the night still delivered an impact that Dylan Newman would smile about. “Obviously not the outcome we wanted tonight, but it’s awesome, it meant so much to the community,” Brendan Duffy (SUNY Oneonta) said postgame. “To see all the support we get, it’s a great thing, just wish we could have gotten the win.” Brendan Duffy (@SUNY_Oneonta)...

Down to their final three outs, Top Tier’s offense erupted, going through their entire 11 man batting order and then some, putting up a whooping 12-spot, blowing the game open and securing a 15-4 win. After losing six of their first eight league contests of the summer, Top Tier has caught fire, with this win being their seventh in a row. It seemed like their luck would run out ...
